Episode 091: Why You Should Charge More For Your Services!!!

Episode 091: Why You Should Charge More For Your Services!!!

LISTEN NOW

What’s Up, Squad!

I did a live video on my Facebook and Instagram that I am excited to share with you in today’s  episode.

We talk about why you should raise your rates!

Being fairly new in the realm of entrepreneurship, I was able to very quickly monetize my podcast by launching my own coaching program. Shortly after that, I was able to then charge a high ticket for my coaching program as a brand new coach.

I am not a unicorn. This is available to you too Sis!

As a brand new coach, it was scary for me to put myself and my service out there. The fear and  questioning if my service would be liked or if it would sell was real.

But I was able to get over myself and all that was holding me back and I started charging high four figures for my programs. I am now up to five figures for my long-term coaching program.

I truly believe that we serve an abundant God who wants us to live an abundant life and as we do so, serve others and bring them to the fold of Christ. How can we serve others if we cannot serve ourselves?

Squad……You are purposed to profit!

In this episode I discuss:

  • You are Purposed to Profit.
  • You can be profitable with a small audience.
  • Transformation requires transaction.
  • We value what we have invested in.

Episode 89: Clarity is a crutch!

Episode 89: Clarity is a crutch!

LISTEN NOW

What’s Squad!!!

On this episode, we are talking about Clarity.

Your desire and pursuit of clarity as you build your coaching business is a crutch.

Many new coaches and women in my community choose not to move forward until they have clarity.

Our society teaches us that we need clarity first before moving in on anything, and I am here to convince you that, Sis, you don’t need clarity!

Clarity is simply your inner cavewoman trying to keep you safe from all the roadblocks you will encounter along your way.

DON’T FALL FOR IT!!

Clarity stagnates you and in that process, no lives are being transformed, because you are not showing up in your purpose.

If you start moving in your purpose, God will start giving you clarity.

You do not need to be clear to move. You need to have courage!

Adam did not have/need clarity when naming the animals and neither do you!!!

Your need for clarity is you not having faith that God will order your steps.

Faith is an action word so… launch out a little bit sis!

Episode 88: Profiles in Purpose: My Q2 Review

Episode 88: Profiles in Purpose: My Q2 Review

LISTEN NOW

What’s up, Squad!

I am super excited about this episode. It is crazy how one quarter can completely change things.

In this episode, I give you all the tea on the lessons that I have learnt. The highs, the lows, the failures, the wins, the successes, all of it.

We also talk about the intersection between my life and my business right now and the tremendous identity shifts.

I mentioned in my last review how earlier in the year, I felt like I was not fulfilling my purpose as an impact based entrepreneur. Well, Squad, don’t I always say that if you are a coach, you need a coach.

I hired a new coach in 2021, and everything turned around. I have been making consistent five-figure months and multi five-figure months as well. I feel so blessed!

So Sis, I decided to launch a High Ticket 12 Month Program to teach other women exactly what to do to get to this point in their business, to build a high ticket program. My program launches on August 2nd. I cannot wait to set you up for success.

Also, if I had to summarize quarter two, it would be identity shifts. My entire identity has shifted in 2021 and has led to success, but that is not to say identity shifts are easy.

One of the major identity shifts I had to go through is moving from being a physician who practices clinical medicine to being a physician coach with a thriving business. Squad! I retired from clinical medicine. I still cannot get over it.

There have been some failures as well. A Tribe Called Purpose™ Membership is no longer part of my business model.

It was quite a learning curve for me but as I always say, failure is data you learn from.

LISTEN NOW

What’s up, Squad!

I am Live in my private Facebook Group, The Black Girl Coach Collective talking about being purposed to profit.s.

You are allowed to make money!

This scripture… Isaiah 48:17 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.

Squaaaaadddd!!!

I need us to believe this and start showing up in our businesses!

In the beginning, when I started out, I didn’t believe that it was God’s plan for my life to make money.

And this is how it showed up, I friend zoned my potential clients. Instead of making my intentions known and being forthright, like “Hey, I can help you.” I would beat around the bush.

When you make your intentions clear, the conversation doesn’t become icky.

Secondly, we have the ability to also say no.

Say what? Yes, Sis! Someone said this to me… “You are the leader of this community.

You are the person in charge. You get to decide to whom you sell your services to.”

Isn’t that empowering?!

This was such a liberating truth for me and my business.

In this episode I discuss:

  • Meaning of being purposed to profit
  • Friend zoning in Entrepreneur
  • Strategies for showing you up and selling your services

Episode 058: Time Vs Money

Episode 058: Time Vs Money

LISTEN NOW

Hey Squad,

I am so excited about this episode because I am sharing with you some of my secrets to redeeming time.

Before we get into it, as you’ve probably heard, I am building a Membership site for y’all – A Tribe Called Purpose™. I’m inviting y’all to sign up for the Waitlist by CLICKING HERE so that you have all the tea when we start off.

Today’s episode is short, but it is a foundational principle on how you can take small steps to start walking in your purpose.

So, a lot of times, we say that we don’t have time. And it’s true. However, how is it that other people seem to do more with their time than we do?

Y’all know my story. I used to spend an inordinate amount of time on social media to numb my anxiety. And it felt like I didn’t have time. I was always rushing, always behind until I got a handle on my habits. I started pouring into myself every morning and teaching my Cavewoman that I can do hard things!

Now, it feels like I have so much more time than I used to. And I don’t. It’s the same 24 hours!

By investing in myself, I have found ways to spend money in order to gain time for things that are important to me. Now, this may be a hard time for you and you may not have the money you wish to have. So this is not to make you feel guilty about that. But if you are able, what are ways that you can invest in yourself so that you have more time for your purpose?

In this episode, I discuss:

  • Time as a finite resource vs money as an infinite resource.
  • Recognizing the things that are taking my time away from my purpose work and what is important.
  • Taking back my time by investing in services that help me delegate tasks.

Episode 057: Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes: Habit Building Masterclass for the New Year

LISTEN NOW

What up, Squad!

Happy New Year!!!
If you are listening to this, you made it!

Our purpose is not postponed just because there is a pandemic. In fact, I would submit to you that our purpose is even more crucial at this time.

By now, y’all know I’m a strong believer that every day, every morning is a God-given chance to draw closer to our Zone of Proximal Greatness.

Last year, I hosted a Habit Board Party. This year, I decided, as a gift to my community that I would do it in the form of this podcast. So this is going to be a Habit-Building Masterclass y’all.

Y’all know my story.

After my mom passed away, I decided that I was going to walk in my purpose. I started listening to all these podcasts, bought all these courses… By looking at my life, you wouldn’t tell that I had these aspirations and dreams because nothing changed.

I was still snoozing, and a procrastinating hot mess.

I was consuming a lot of information, but I wasn’t implementing anything. I had a lot of dreams, goals, and desires, but my day-to-day existence was the same.

What I want for you is that we engage in habits that on a daily basis support the goals that we have. We are going to be honest with ourselves, and get deeper into how our good and bad habits serve us.

I’m taking you step by step through this process and helping you start new habits to take you closer to your purpose in 2021 in this Masterclass.

What up Squad!!! I’m so grateful to have you in my life.

You have kept me going this year, and that is not an exaggeration. There were moments I just wanted to throw in the towel, but when I remembered I have been called to serve you… I couldn’t!

Announcement: I’m reviewing my content and products for next year and I would love to hear from you what you think and where you’re at.  Sis, would you please do me a favor and take the Productive on Purpose™ Community Survey? I’m looking forward to serving y’all in the best possible way.

Let’s get into it…

What a year! As always, I’m giving you ALL the tea.
Here at the Pop Squad, we are all about being real. Serving the good, the bad, and the uggggllyyy!

Building a business is hard!

When I think of Q4, the word that comes to mind first is traumatizing.
I explain why (download & listen to the podcast) – and I take full responsibility for the trauma. Some were out of my control and some of it was self-inflicted.

I’ve had huge wins this year hiring for my business and I’ve also learned huge lessons on choosing people. Some painful lessons are because I  see the potential in people and I want to give them chances to prove themselves, but unfortunately potential doesn’t get the work done.

Another huge win: The Push Through Procrastination™ 5-Day Challenge!!! Whoa!! Shout out to all of the amazing women who showed up and made the Challenge a success.

I’m so grateful and I’m amazed that I did everything that I set out to do in Q4. Did I achieve the impact that I hoped to? No, I didn’t. And that is where some of the grief comes in.

The lessons I’ve learned:

  • Changing quickly if something isn’t working for me.
  • Meeting y’all where you’re at. Sometime back, I made a change on my podcast and platform to focus on purpose and entrepreneurship. That was a mistake. And I appreciate the feedback I got from y’all. I need to meet you where you’re at.  I was trying to rapidly push you guys to where I want you to be instead of meeting you where you are, and that was wrong. I’m sorry about that.

Hey Squad,

I want to appreciate all of you who listen to my podcast every week.
I feel so blessed that I get to serve you in this way.

On today’s podcast, I had the privilege of catching up with Dr. Lisa Davis, M.D. who was a participant in Cycle 3 of my program, Procrastination to Purpose™, and I thought it would be great to share her story with you all in the podcast land!

Dr. Lisa Davis, M.D., is a family medicine physician and she has been doing clinical and academic medicine for 20 years. She is now transitioning into an entrepreneur. Her business will help people move from fear and avoidance to love and intention in the area of fitness and nutrition.

She did my Push Through Procrastination™ 5-Day Challenge and joined my Procrastination to Purpose™ Program because she felt she need to manage her transition from her full-time job into retirement and keep her progress flowing as fast.

I knew that I needed more. The 5-Day Challenge – outstanding!  But I, knowing myself, wanted to build on that momentum. I wanted to get more. I just was wanting more information about how to keep this Cavewoman from defeating me. And I knew that the value of what you had to offer just from the 5-Day course. I knew you were about the business. That it was going to be worth my time and my money. And it was going to be effective. So, yeah, I signed up right away. No hesitation. And you gave us a discount. But I would have paid whatever it was.
~ Dr. Lisa Davis

I am incredibly humbled that the program I created has such an impact on the people that take it. To add to the business and personal goals that most women come to the program with, the principles that I teach spill over to other areas of their lives.

I was so happy when Dr. Lisa said that she used the Push Through Principle™ that I teach to finally set up a meeting with her financial advisor and get to look at her money.

Episode 053: What is Really Stopping You From Showing Up and Serving

Episode 053: What is Really Stopping You From Showing Up and Serving

LISTEN NOW

What up SQUAD!!!!

Y’all can tell I’m excited from all them exclamation marks. I have had such an AMAZING, UNBELIEVABLE, IMPACTFUL, CRAZY, and PRODUCTIVE week during my  Push Through Procrastination™ 5-Day Challenge!

I can’t believe it! Close to 200 women signed up. The testimonies… I am so grateful. I am blown away, I am overjoyed.

Before we get into it, if you’re a high achieving woman but you know there’s that you’re NOT fully walking in your purpose

You have a way that you want to show up in this world and serve, but you don’t know where to start. Especially because you procrastinate… I want to help you.

I invite you to sign up for my upcoming Procrastination to Purpose™ Program.  The doors are NOW open and will close on Wednesday, December 23rd. You are my people and I know you, so don’t procrastinate and be scrambling to sign up on the last day.

Our kickoff call will be on Monday, December 28th and we start the program on Wednesday, January 6th.

So, let’s get into the real reason you are not showing up for yourself.

You don’t TRUST yourself.

Whaaaaat??!!! Yes Sis, your unconscious mind has learned over the YEARS that you don’t keep your promises to yourself. Y’all know my story. I would snooze, scramble to get to work, be unproductive by scrolling social media, thrive on deadlines – you know how we procrastinators love deadlines and break promises to others.

You’re NOT a bad person. You’re NOT deficient in some way. You DON’T have a character flaw issue. You are a human being that has an unconscious mind that is setting you up.

Your unconscious mind, which we call our inner Cavewoman, is trying to protect you from failure. And so, we use procrastination as a crutch to prevent us from feeling the hurt and rejection that comes from failing.

My take-aways from this episode:

  • Your relationship with yourself (which is unconscious) is the most impactful relationship of all.
  • You cannot walk in your purpose with a trail of broken promises.
  • Affirmations are empty. They only work when there’s evidence of actions paired with the affirming words.

Episode 052: What Does Confidence Have to Do with It?

LISTEN NOW

What up Squad!

I am going to be productive and launch into my purpose next year… Is this what you are currently telling yourself Sis? Have you delegated your life to some future time? This was me!

Y’all know here at the Pop Podcast, we are real and tell it as it is. Do you guys know that I used to repeat these affirmations that we are told to – I will stop procrastinating! I will be a better wife and mother this year! I will start showing up for myself and serve!

I can go on and on…

But the sad thing is, I didn’t even believe the things I was saying. Why? Because I had no evidence of actually having been successful at doing these things. I had no CONFIDENCE that I could get any of these affirmations and plans done because I had been living as a procrastinator for essentially my whole life!

Research shows that if your unconscious mind knows that what you’re reciting is not the truth, you’re actually doing more harm than good to yourself. Wow!

I’ll share with you an extract of the testimonial I got from the last challenge I ran in October:
Before I participated in the Pop Squad 5-Day Challenge, I knew I was a procrastinator. I was the rush-at-the-deadline woman. Having my type of procrastination identified (Who knew there was a type?) was all I needed to counter its effect. Simply realizing I was avoiding tasks and why was enough to turn me around? I haven’t been this productive without a deadline looming, ever. – Catherine

My programs work. So, if you are listening to this TODAY, I want you to do yourself a favor. If you haven’t joined the FREE  Push Through Procrastination™ 5-Day Challenge, sign up HERE. I want you in there because it is time!

It is past time for us to get out of our own way and start walking in our purpose. So you’ve only missed one night. It will be very easy for you to catch up and join us tonight at 8:30 PM.

This is one of the first small steps to change the narrative in your unconscious mind and start keeping your promises to yourself every single day.

My take-outs from this episode:

  • Develop a system to help you start keeping your promises.
  • Start building some accountability in your life.

LISTEN NOW

Squad, I had the most amazing time interviewing Dr. Catherine!!!

I’m so so so excited because I still can’t believe how transformational just ONE day of the  Push Through Procrastination™ 5-Day Challenge could be to y’all!

Dr. Catherine Toomer, MD is a Family Medicine Specialist and a community health physician who is the founder of Health Wellness and Weight Loss Centers, LLC, and the creator of Whole-You Total Weight Loss™, a telehealth coaching, and counseling service to help people maximize their health and wellness to weight loss.

In this interview, she gives us a testimonial of her remarkable transformation from the last Push Through Procrastination™ 5-Day Challenge.

I’m normally not much of a challenge person because my attention span usually doesn’t take me through all the days of the challenge, but I thought if I don’t do this, then I’m feeding right into the procrastination that I’m trying to fix. And so I joined. ~ Dr. Catherine

In this episode we talk about:

  • Procrastination is not you being lazy.
  • How profound keeping your morning promise and NOT snoozing is critical to overcoming procrastination.
  • Ignoring your Cavewoman.
  • The impact of NOT procrastinating.

Squad, this short interview is power-packed with so many nuggets of what I teach you. I’m so glad that Catherine said that she felt what she was getting from the Challenge was NOT a watered-down version of what I do, or I didn’t give her just enough so that she knew she needed it; it was like BOOM! This is it! She knew she was getting the meat and potatoes of what this was right from the beginning.

Y’all know, I give you my all. If we are doing something, we go all the way.

Episode 050: Profiles in Purpose: Protecting Your Intellectual Property with Asia Marie Woods

LISTEN NOW

Hey! Hey Squad!!
Before we get into it…

Good news! I understand that Thanksgiving week took over our calendars and most of us procrastinated to sign up for the Push Through Procrastination™ 5-Day Challenge. I see you Sis… And I understand. So, I have pushed the 5-Day Challenge to this coming Sunday, 6th December. I don’t want to leave anyone behind and in the spirit of giving back to you, my community, my awesome Pop Squad, it’s going to be FREE!

Don’t procrastinate again, sign up HERE for the Push Through Procrastination™ 5-Day Challenge for a chance to TRANSFORM your Life!

As always, I am excited to bring you this new episode. I am passionate about women in business and we are about to be schooled on how to protect our intellectual property.

Asia Marie Woods, Esq. is an attorney for entrepreneurs who encourages her clients to go big, never play small, and to make sure all of their legal ducks are in a row. She received her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law; and received her bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University. Asia Marie Woods is passionate about educating entrepreneurs on owning their trademarks and leveraging their intellectual property to scale their businesses. She has also dedicated her legal career to providing pro-bono representation for low-income individuals seeking bankruptcy relief.

As a new entrepreneur, it’s pretty overwhelming and very daunting when you’re getting started. Especially when you’re a solopreneur – you’re doing everything.

Asia shares with us how she lost a six-figure investment deal because of missing just ONE step when she was starting one of her businesses. Squad, it is PAINFUL to watch what you have built be taken from you.

Therefore, it is important that you protect your blood, sweat, and tears from the beginning or take on the risk that someone out there in another state is going to come for you for using their trademark.

In this episode we talk about:

  • What is a Trademark?
  • What is Copyright?
  • Intellectual property as assets.
  • Contracts as protection policies for employers.

My take-outs:

  • Having your business house in order.
  • Every client is not for you. And it’s really okay.

Episode 049: BONUS EPISODE! I Am Here

Episode 049: BONUS EPISODE! I Am Here

LISTEN NOW

What up, SQUAD!!!

I had no intention of recording a bonus episode, but I got an epiphany and I just had to!

I just got my Peloton bike and I was doing Tunde Oyeneyin Beginner’s ride. She started sharing how Beyonce’s ‘I Was Here’ healed her after her father passed away. She realized that her father lived his life in such a way that he touched so many people. This song allowed her to know that he was here and that she can carry on his legacy through what she does.

And I got really emotional…

Many of you guys know that everything I do on my podcast and in my business is as a result of my mother and the incredible life that she lived. But also the dreams that she deferred… And I find myself getting emotional again.

I made a decision at that moment that I was going to walk in my purpose despite lots of false starts. It still took another year to get out of my own way and stop self-sabotaging and finally develop the system that I teach you guys together with my students in my programs.

I’ve been thinking about, this notion of legacy… And I have been going back to Beyonce’s Homecoming. The only difference between her and 99.9% of the world is that she is allowing herself to be great because she wants to leave a mark on this world. She does not want this world to pass her by knowing that she could have showed-up!

It is a scary thing to think that you will be required to give an account of the gifts (talents) that God gave you. What will you have to say for yourself if you did not work the gift that you were blessed with?

Beyond that, how many people will you have denied walking in their purpose because you didn’t do your part?

And because I understand the struggle of being a procrastinator and getting out of your own way, and because I was you, I want to help you. I am called to serve you.

The first step is, go to pushthroughprocrastination.com and sign up for the Push Through Procrastination™ 5- Day Challenge for FREE for a chance to TRANSFORM your Life!

Why is it not free like the other challenges? Because when you pay, you pay attention and there’s no transformation without transaction. I have to have you guys put on just a little bit of skin in the game.

I am excited that we have a chance to make a decision and DO THIS! I used to say that I will get all the work I need to in January because something magical will happen and I will get all the motivation I need. It didn’t work!

So, my fellow procrastinators and recovering procrastinators, sign up NOW!
